I guess my job and I have a love/hate relationship. The Love part is that I get payed to do it. And that I actually get along with most of the people in my office (an office of 17 females).
The hate part is that I don't really enjoy much of anything my job entails. One of the most gut-wrenching parts of my job is having to "swallow my pride." It comes with any job were you are providing a service, Interior Design is no different. It's a common saying in our office that designers are the easiest targets in the world of design. (I think it's because we are surrounded by male dominated occupations like Construction & Architecture). And, there are always those clients who think that just because they are paying you, they have the right to demean and belittle you. I have never been good at admitting when I am wrong, especially when I know I'm NOT wrong. I have a bit of a stubborn streak, as my parents can testify :) But, today this happened to me, as it too often does, and I suddenly decided that I'm just not going to let it bother me. I usually stay mad for days when things like this happen. This simple decision made a very surprising difference. I've always wanted to be one of those people who could take anything you fling at them without letting it get to you. I got a little bit closer to that today ;)
So, to anyone who has experienced this first hand, here's to swallowin your pride with pride!
If you need even more help, just remember that Jesus knows the truth!! Haha, booya.
