Swallowin' my Pride

I know I complain about my job sometimes, but I don't feel too bad about it because who really loves their job so much that they don't ever complain about it? I don't know anyone like that, but I'm sure someone out there fits this category.

I guess my job and I have a love/hate relationship. The Love part is that I get payed to do it. And that I actually get along with most of the people in my office (an office of 17 females).

The hate part is that I don't really enjoy much of anything my job entails. One of the most gut-wrenching parts of my job is having to "swallow my pride." It comes with any job were you are providing a service, Interior Design is no different. It's a common saying in our office that designers are the easiest targets in the world of design. (I think it's because we are surrounded by male dominated occupations like Construction & Architecture). And, there are always those clients who think that just because they are paying you, they have the right to demean and belittle you. I have never been good at admitting when I am wrong, especially when I know I'm NOT wrong. I have a bit of a stubborn streak, as my parents can testify :) But, today this happened to me, as it too often does, and I suddenly decided that I'm just not going to let it bother me. I usually stay mad for days when things like this happen. This simple decision made a very surprising difference. I've always wanted to be one of those people who could take anything you fling at them without letting it get to you. I got a little bit closer to that today ;)

So, to anyone who has experienced this first hand, here's to swallowin your pride with pride!

If you need even more help, just remember that Jesus knows the truth!! Haha, booya.

Good job! You will be better off not letting things get to you. Are you ready to come see the cutest baby in the world? She's ready to see her Auntie :)

It is hard to do but once you learn the let the little things roll off your back it will bring you a lot of peace in the workplace. (speaking from experience) Thanks for your message. I gasped when I saw my ankle too. I am ready to see the doc tomorrow assuming the roads are open that is.
